NURS 7203 Quality and Outcome Measures: Building an Evidence-based Anesthesia Practice

This course relates foundational quality improvement approaches, measures, and tools used by healthcare organizations to clinical decision-making in anesthesia practice. This course explores the essential principles of quality improvement in healthcare, with a specific focus on the team-based perioperative environment. Students will gain an understanding of the methodologies and processes used to improve anesthesia care outcomes. Through application, students will practice using the tools and assessment techniques commonly employed in anesthesia practice, equipping them with the skills necessary to identify clinical issues of concern and practice proposing interprofessional and evidence-based plans for improvement.
