NURS 7202 Professional Role Development in Anesthesia Practice

This course examines the role of the doctoral-prepared nurse anesthetist within the context of the greater healthcare system. Key aspects of the role to be examined include historical, legal, ethical, social, and interprofessional. Emphasis is placed on the use of caring and advocacy as advanced practice professionals. The purpose of this course is to introduce students to the role of the Certified Registered Nurse Anesthesiologist. Students explore the historical development of nurses as anesthesia professionals and the factors influencing the formation of profession.
