EDUC 3314 Disciplinary Literacy in Secondary Settings

Disciplinary Literacy in Secondary Settings is a pre-professional development sequence course
for the Education minor. This course introduces students to disciplinary literacy, strategies for
teaching reading, writing, and composing, supporting English language learners in attaining
academic English, and understanding dyslexia. Students will have opportunities to deepen their
disciplinary knowledge while developing their understandings of pedagogy.  Prerequisite: EUC 2305 and 12 credit hours in the content areas in which the student is certifying.  This course may not be repeated for credit.
