NURS 7401 Advanced Pathophysiology and Pharmacotherapeutics I

This course is the first of a three-part sequence that builds on foundational principles of anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, and pharmacology. Using a systems approach, an in-depth study of select coexisting diseases and pharmacotherapeutics with a focus on anesthetic implications is provided. This course builds on foundational principles of anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology across the lifespan. An in-depth systems approach is used to study select coexisting diseases with an emphasis on their impact on anesthesia practice. Focus is on the cardiovascular, pulmonary, and nervous systems. Shock states and burns are presented in the context of their anesthetic implications.
