OMED 8268 Federal Health Privacy and Confidentiality Elective Clerkship
This two-week elective clerkship introduces learners to the law and regulation of health privacy and confidentiality. This elective clerkship addresses federal law and regulation, emphasizing the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Learners examine key concepts, including the individuals and entities that HIPAA regulates, the information it covers, use and disclosure of protected health information, patient rights, and information security.
