Program Overview
The Master of Public Health degree program with a concentration in Global Health is offered asynchronously online. It is designed for learners desiring to impact the health of their communities as public health professionals, or to expand employment opportunities in a variety of industries. The UIWSOM's MPH program was specifically created for busy people who want to earn their MPH degree alongside their health professions degree, as well as for those already in the workforce.
The 42-credit program may be completed in as few as five full-time semesters or taken part-time if working or in another health professions program. Each three-credit course is eight weeks in length. Learning outcomes are built upon the following Foundational Competencies developed by the Council on Education for Public Health:

Admissions
In addition to meeting the general requirements for admission to graduate study at UIW, applicants for the master of public health degree program must satisfy these conditions:
— Current enrollment in the University of Incarnate Word Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine program, or
— Current Texas Institute for Graduate Medical Education and Research resident.
