EDUC 3383 Curriculum Design and Assessment in Secondary Settings
Curriculum Design and Assessment is the second pedagogy course in the professional development sequence of the Education Minor, preparing candidates for secondary and all-level teaching certification. This course introduces students to unit planning using the Understanding by Design framework, assessment and evaluation, data analysis and data-driven instruction, and communication with parents. Students will also deepen their instructional design and teaching techniques to include scaffolding and differentiation. In addition to the coursework, candidates must complete a minimum of 40 hours of guided field experience in as signed classrooms corresponding with their intended certification. This professional development course requires admission to the Teacher Certification Program.
