PHIL 3370 Philosophy of Science and Technology

This course is a critical survey of philosophical problems and themes in science and technology. Topics may include scientific methodology, the status of scientific truth claims in the total array of human knowledge, metaphysical interpretations of the physics of space and time, biological and evolutionary approaches to human nature and to natural history, ethical and political responsibilities of scientific research, and the impact of technology as a force that guides human understanding, human values, and human destiny.

Prerequisite

PHIL 1381. May be taken as a CLST elective. (Odd-numbered Springs)
