HIST 4330 War and Society

This course examines traditional military strategies and surveys the economic, social, and cultural history of war by looking at wartime propaganda, military culture, and the material and emotional experience of the noncombatant. Finally, the course examines the blurring of historical distinctions between "war" and "peace" and what that means for society. This course does not fulfill the Core Social Science requirement.
