EDRD 3347 Differentiating Literacy Instruction

Developing the Fluent Reader examines the relationships among phonological awareness, phonic decoding, spelling, accurate and automatic word recognition, and text reading fluency.Students will learn to use data to inform and differentiate tier I and tier II literacy instruction.Emphasis will be placed on the alphabetic principle, evidenced-based instruction, the Science of Teaching Reading, and the developmental progression of phonological skills, printed word recognition, spelling, and reading fluency. This course is one of five in the Literacy Minor.
