JE and LE Mabee Library

The J.E. and L.E. Mabee Library, part of the UIW Libraries, serves as the main library for all Broadway campus and global online programs.  All Cardinal students, faculty, and staff are welcomed in the Mabee Library during open hours of operation and digitally 24/7.  Other libraries include the Feik School of Pharmacy Library, the Rosenberg School of Optometry Library, the School of Rehabilitation Sciences Library, and the SOM Library at the UIW School of Osteopathic Medicine. UIW libraries provide access to close to a million books, research reports, and media in physical and electronic formats as well as close to 130,000 journals and serials in physical and electronic formats.  Liaison librarians and staff work directly with faculty and students in creating informational and research guides, assist in assessing and building collections, and supporting resource sharing activities such as interlibrary loan, statewide TexShare borrowing, and on demand requests.

All electronic resources can be accessed on campus or remotely from your home, office, or any other Wi-Fi accessible location.  In addition to our resources, liaison librarians are available to assist with reference and research through our Ask-a-Librarian email, in person and through consultation appointments, and chat. Please visit the UIW Libraries webpage for more information about programs, services, and hours of operation. A few highlighted services include Nights in the Nest which is hostedfor students as they prepare for finals, Cardinal Seats which allows students to “book” a spot in Scholar’s Corner in advance, group study rooms, circulating technologies and other study support materials, and the open computer lab,Cardinal’s Nest.

Graduate students have access to the graduate student study room and students working on their dissertations have access to a space for this activity.  The libraries work collaboratively with the Office of Research and Graduate Studies to offer workshops and trainings of particular interest to graduate students.
