Mathematics with Secondary Teaching - BA

The Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics with Secondary Teaching degree is a robust program designed to provide aspiring secondary mathematics teachers the foundation required for success in today's classrooms. This program is a double major in Mathematics and Education, incorporating a rigorous mathematics curriculum consisting of both content and math-specific pedagogy with a rigorous education foundation.

Program Overview

The Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics with Secondary Teaching degree program shapes mathematically minded leaders to become the leaders of tomorrow's classrooms. This 124 credit hour program emphasizes concepts, procedures, and pedagogy specific to secondary teaching. All courses develop reasoning abilities along with skills in precise communication of concepts. Problem solving is addressed throughout the program. Students are well supported through the program by faculty who provide mentoring and guidance, and through the Math Tutoring Lab, which offers individual guidance and help through the subject’s challenges.
