OMED 8468 Psychiatry Sub-Internship Elective Clerkship

This four-week sub-internship is designed to provide experiential learning in the field of general adult psychiatry in the ambulatory outpatient and/or inpatient setting with the student performing the duties that are typical of an intern. The student should be given primary responsibility for patients with appropriate oversight with the goal of helping to prepare them for a psychiatry residency. To accomplish this, this elective clerkship provides exposure to commonly encountered psychiatric conditions, both acute and chronic, and requires the student to participate in the screening for, evaluation of, and management of these conditions.
