PHAR 3316 Biochemistry
This course in biochemistry encompasses the study of physiological processes at a molecular level. The course will focus on the structure, properties, and functions of bio-macromolecules and their building bglocks--amino acids, carbohydrates, nucleotides and fatty acids. Major anabolic and catabolic pathways will be discussed. Enzyme kenetic, inhibition, and regulation will be presented. The course will introduce students to the therapeutic agents that act on biochemical targets for treatment of diseases.
