Application and Approval for State Certification
Application for Texas certification is the candidate's responsibility and is facilitated by the DSE Certification Officer. Application for certification takes place once all coursework, a clinical teaching placement, and required state-administered TExES certification examinations have been successfully completed.
It is the recommendation of the Teacher Education Department that the application for state certification be filed upon completion of all required certification requirements to ensure that program/TEA changes, if any, do not affect the candidates's certification status.
Students seeking certification approval from the University of the Incarnate Word are subject to any additional or new requirements set forth by legislative mandates or by the State Board for Educator Certification.
