THAR 2350 Survey of Musical Theater in the U.S.

Students examine the most popular of the many forms of music on the stage. These works include revues, operettas, operas, and Broadway musicals. The students develop the ability to differentiate among the many styles and time periods and form a time line for the individual style formation and maturation of each particular genre. Visual and aural learning take place.
