HIST 3305 Introduction to Public History
Students survey the practice of history in public venues, including government agencies, historical societies, archives, museums, businesses, and various professional organizations. Central themes include the interpretation of history, the role of history in popular culture, issues and aims in exhibiting history, the politics of public history, and historic preservation.
