MATH 2314 Differential Equations

This course will focus on various methods and techniques for solving ordinary differential equations and initial value problems.  Students will use graphing calculators in apply numerical methods to solving initial value problems.  Students will use appropriate theorems to determine the existence of solutions and intervals of convergence. Practical applications will be used to reinforce methods for solving differential equations, modeling the importance of these techniques in the real world.  Topics will be taken from but not limited to first-order differential equations, approximation methods, homogeneous linear differential equations, the Laplace transform, infinite series methods, and linear systems.
