ENGL 2383 Introduction to General Linguistics

Part of the Language Arts and Linguistics branch of the UIW English Program, this course studies the basic principles of language analysis and description, with application to English and other languages. It includes discussion of language acquisition, the physiology of language ability, the concept of standard language, and the implications of bilingualism and bi-dialectism in education and for society. May be taken as a CLST elective.

ENGL 1312. This course may be taken with ENGL 2310. (Fall)
