MUSI 2346 History of Jazz

This course offers a survey of jazz artists and jazz styles; topics include: Cultural and musical origins of jazz, blues, ragtime, Dixieland, the swing era, bebop, fusion, contemporary styles, and artists associated with all of these. Fulfills CORE Fine Arts requirement for non-majors; available to Music majors as an elective. No prerequisite. May be taken as a CLST elective. (As needed)
