HIST 2332 Introduction to Asian History

This course surveys the ancient, medieval and modern history of Asia thematically and topically. Through an exploration into the diverse histories of Asia, the course will address such concepts as religious identities, sovereignty, artistic and economic interchange, and the evolution of cultures. In the process, the course will not not only illustrate the interconnectedness of Asia, but also point out the economic and cultural ties between various regions of Asia and other parts of the world. This course will provide the foundational knowledge for any upper level course on Asia and Asian Studies. Course will not count toward the Core Curriculum requirement.
