COMM 3317 Diversity in the Media

This course explores diversity and its role in the media, including the influence of various political, social, gender, race, class, age and economic factors in the makeup of those in the news media, decisions involved in media coverage and what various media - including newspapers, radio stations, TV stations, web sites, ads, sitcoms, dramas, documentaries and movies - portray about various peoples and topics on a historical and cultural basis. May be taken as a Cultural Studies elective.
