HSCI 4360 Medical Transcription Practicum

The medical transcription practicum applies the skills learned in the medical transcription program to practical experiences. Students are required to complete a minimum of 120 hours transcribing authentic physician dictation in compliance with Association for Healthcare Documentation Integrity (AHDI) guidelines. Students are evaluated weekly during the practicum and progress is documented. Students who do not demonstrate entry-level employment skills are required to complete additional hours or repeat the course until the industry entry-level skills are attained.
