PHIL 3325 Philosophy of Culture

Students explore a variety of theoretical approaches to the study of culture, including visual theory, literary theory, and performance theory. Attention is paid to the contexts in which cultural representations are produced and in which they circulate. Students investigate how visual, textual and performative norms and practices create and contest social borders, political institutions, and identity formation.
